If I were a film director, I think I would make an action film. It would be my first time doing something like film directing, so I would start with a easy film to make, with minimal plot. I think I would cast someone different than the normal action movies, since I probably wouldn't be able to get Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise. I would use maybe Chris Pine (not like that hasn't been done before). My movie would be different because it would be aware of how ridiculous it is. Breaking the fourth wall would happen a lot, and I would just have the movie make fun of itself. I feel like some movies have done that before, like Deadpool and probably others. However, I think that an action film would be the best film to start directing.
Movies in a theater are archaic, and there are so many other ways to watch movies from the comfort of home. So, the big question is, why do we go to the movies in a theater setting? The first reason is that humans are never patient, and the newest movies are in the theaters, and the theaters only. If people want to be the first to watch a movie, they get to go to a midnight release, sometimes dressed in costume, which leads me to my next point. People like to watch movies in groups. People can go to the theater, and watch movies with friends and discuss it afterwards. At home, someone has to provide concessions, and someone has to invite people to their house, something many don't want to do. A theater is a place where no patron has to provide anything besides money. No preparation is required. The theater is a place for friends to relax and for avid movie watchers to see the film before anyone else does.
